A Vacation from the Kitchen

The Husband and I took a 3 day weekend and went to Crescent City, California for a reunion with friends, so no cooking for me. We also took some side trips while we were there to visit the magnificent, awe-inspiring Redwoods. Though I have been there several times, they never fail to thrill me. This trip into the forest was particularly beautiful as the fog had rolled in and the light was very interesting. I will share with you a couple of photos, though they cannot possibly do justice to the scenary.

So green, so relaxing! I love that area! I can still remember our campground with the little bunnies hopping all over the trails. :>)

The redwoods are gorgeous. Glad you had a nice trip. I had two other families of friends that were in that area this past weekend - all of you from Salem! Did you all coordinate the trip? ha ha!

Living near Big Sur and Santa Cruz, California, I am surrounded by beautiful redwood forests. I know what you mean. Trailing riding my horse in these parks are all wonderful memories. These gentle giants of the forest never cease to amaze me. When we go to Sequoia National Park, I can just sit and enjoy the serenity, fragrant woods air and the magnificence of these trees. I'm longing for a trip, though my horse is now retired-- so now I have to "hoof" it!
